Another relatively new band with a strong foothold in the door with only one release to stand on is Ascendency. At just four tracks of blistering black/death metal, Birth of an Eternal Empire is as ominous as it’s cover art suggests. Ghoulish death metal riffs scream in the back while the cacophony that is the vocals take the reign in the front. Like being squeezed into an iron maiden, this record drains the life out of the listener with it’s warlike rampage and leaves the earth barren from it’s scorched earth tactics.
