Whilst he is mostly known for his contributions as the main guitarist in the active Gothic/Doom project, Katatonia, Anders Nystrom, under the guise of the very elusive Blakkheim created a project that would later be known as Diabolical Masquerade. The sophomoric record that is known as the Phantom Lodge takes off exactly where Ravendusk in My Heart left off and builds on the sonic landscape with larger than life effects, keys and narration. Incorporating a tighter mix and more symphonic elements, the project takes off straight out of the gate to it’s crescendo, an almost traditionalist doom/heavy metal track with black metal elements. Blakkheim takes no prisoners with his genrebending and this album is a testament to that
