While many bands change their style over time, few have gone through as drastic of a change as Katatonia. Starting as a death/doom project, Katatonia later became a household name in the scene as a Gothic doom band. Jhva Elohim Meth is where the band first started, showcasing Katatonia at their rawest and most intimate. While only featuring three songs with an intro and outro, the band display every strength they have and play it loudly. A massive crescendo of leads backed by somber and romantic doom chords with grisly screams top the very roomy mix. Not just one for the avid collector, this demo shines on it’s own as a gem of the death/doom genre.
