Saor, fronted by sole composer Andy Marshall, are best known for their gritty folk atmosphere enshrouded by a thick mist of Celtic melodicism. A little under a year after the release of his debut, Roots, Marshall returned with the follow-up album, Aura. The sophomoric release built on the foundation laid by its sibling, bringing forth more of the heart buried beneath the surface. Featuring more traditional instruments, and incorporating Scottish Gaelic into the lyrics, Marshall delves deeper into the epoch of love that he continually carves.
